Beginning with the election to be held on March 2006, the mayor of the city of Sedona shall be directly elected by the qualified electors of the city. The term of office of the mayor shall be for two years. [Code 2006 § 2-2-1].

Editor’s Note: Ord. 2007-03 proposed changing the mayor’s term of office from two to four years. However, this change was rejected by the voters. Ord. 2009-09 sought to require that the mayor be selected by members of the city council rather than by the voters. This measure was also rejected by the voters.
