For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning:

“Traffic generator” means a designated land use or building type which, when in use or operation, generates a flow of motor vehicle, bicycle or pedestrian traffic.

“Traffic impact study” means a traffic engineering study of the potential negative impact on traffic operations and safety resulting from a proposed traffic generator and shall include any recommended street or highway improvements to mitigate such negative impact, and the means proposed for the timing, funding and construction of these improvements.
